5K a year About the Position The Commercial Loan Portfolio Specialist manages a portfolio of existing member loan relationships and does not have sales goals.
Works closely with members, Relationship Managers, and Credit Analysts to complete annual reviews.
Assists with tickler management and collection of applicable loan related documentation needed for annual reviews and ongoing compliance.
Assists with credit analysis and underwriting when needed.
Assists with past due / delinquent monitoring and calling efforts.
Provides exemplary service to internal peers and members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Conduct timely annual credit reviews per policy to ensure compliance with policy and regulations.
Consult with the business membership to provide financial solutions to their financial needs through the interpretation and analysis of business tax returns and financial statements.
Ensures timely and thorough monitoring of all credits through periodic review, continual analysis, and proper documentation.
Identify and evaluate credit risk, analyze, and interpret financial data, outline loan structure and provide loan risk rating upgrade/downgrade rationale on annual reviews.
Provide a superior member experience by actively listening to and assessing the needs of the member.
Financial monitoring/reporting and covenant compliance.
New credit underwriting as needed.
Regularly identifies and cross sells a wide variety of products and services appropriate for the client in conjunction with the Relationship Manager.
Manage draw requests for future loans requiring borrowing base monitoring.
Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services, features, and benefits Preferred Qualifications and Skills Must have familiarity with commercial loan analytics software and a working knowledge of commercial loan documentation.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent listening skills.
Ability to work well independently as well as in team environments, being able to respond appropriately to employee and member questions and requests.
Must be able to multi-task and set priorities with conflicting duties, assignments and time constraints.
Must be professional in presenting oneself both in dress and attitude.
Must be punctual and able to maintain a cooperative attitude with other employees, members, and vendors.
Strong understanding of lending concepts and corporate structures.
Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret business and personal financial statements and business and personal tax returns.
Advanced knowledge of financial analysis with high comprehension of trend analysis, financial ratios, and projections.
Thorough understanding and knowledge of business lending practices, loan documentation and servicing requirements.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of regulations governing consumer, real estate, and commercial lending.
Critical level of attention to detail Experience Requirements:
Three to five years of experience in commercial credit, credit analysis, or similar/related experience.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or equivalent experience.
