Summary:
The Communication Specialist position is responsible for internal and external communications (including main website content and social marketing), media relations and events support.
This position determines content topics, coordinates with others to obtain information, writes, edits, designs, and sends to community and business contacts.
Prepares and supervises the production of press releases, announcements, brochures, event materials, photographs, newsletters, etc.
Prepares power point presentations, speeches, etc.
Interfaces and prepares materials for monthly Communications Committee meeting.

Manages the communication, on a regular and consistent basis, with community-based partners throughout the 9-county region comprising Greater Health Now.
Ability to build trust with regional partners to communicate a unified message regarding work performed under contracts with the WA Department of Health and the WA Health Care Authority.
Engages and works collaboratively with other communication professionals at other Accountable Communities of Health.
Demonstrates ability in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) communications to champion diversity, advancing equity, and building an inclusive culture across our Accountable Community of Health.
Determines news-worthy stories, website and social media content, and which distribution strategies to implement.
Develops, organizes, and executes public relations events for the specified department.
Leverages analytics and reports to determine effectiveness and seek continual improvements of marketing and communication initiatives.
Writes, edits and coordinates distribution of information to market, promote and increase the visibility of initiatives and accomplishments of the specific department.
Responsible for training all web content providers and serve as the main point of contact for problems, questions, and concerns regarding the website.
Manages internal and external communications to project a positive image for the specified department.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Journalism, English, Public Relations, or related field, preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of communications experience in an agency and/or corporate setting.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Ability to code sufficient to make changes to website and social media, preferred.
Advanced knowledge of design and publishing concepts, preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
Solid interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to effectively interface with employees and leaders at all levels withing the organization.
Strong project management skills and keen attention to detail.
Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, to prioritize workload, and to work effectively in a fast- paced environment.
Work environment Telecommute.
Intermittent travel & mandatory work sessions at Greater Health Now required.
